Why we need to use NULL MODEM though we do have DCE interface?
The RS-232C specification expects that a standard modem cable connects DCE equipment to DTE equipment. If you are connecting DCE to DCE, you need a “null modem” cable so that the correct data and control lines get swapped. For example, if you tried to connect DCE to DCE with a straight-through “standard modem” cable, you’d be connecting the data transmit to the data transmit pin, when what you want is to connect data transmit to data receive.
