How To Print Catalogs That Can Do Everything
Color catalogs can do a lot of things if you just pay attention to its different aspects. In fact, it can be possible for catalog printing to produce so called “super catalogs” that can be used for a lot of different purposes. This kind of catalog printing however requires focus on five areas of concern which makes it very functional. The advertising angle
The first area of focus is the advertising angle. How will your products be advertised in the catalog? How can it effectively encourage people to buy the products? The common angles of attack for this is the “bargain angle” (which tempts customers in exploiting cheap deals) or the “luxury angle” (which shows people how luxurious they will feel when they but the product). The artistic angle
Next we go to the artistic angle. Catalogs are as much a publishing piece of art as magazines and booklets are. Since people want artistic beauty, your catalogs must be designed to delight their eyes. They must get attracted and enjoy the catalog design. More specifically, this refers to the cover design. You catalog cover must really be impressive, displaying the best and most stunning of your products. It must be done in a stylish way that suits the theme of your catalog. By doing this, your catalogs can become their own piece of art that can be admired beyond their content.
The publishing angle
Afterwards, we have the publishing angle. All catalogs must follow the proper publishing characteristics to be a functional catalog. It must have the proper parts like a table of contents, letter of the editor, product sections, feature articles etc. All of this makes a catalog a complete published work. The business philosophy angle
Finally, catalogs are also extensions of the company’s business image. It carries its lifestyle and its philosophy. If they want to look luxurious and posh then the catalog must display that too. By doing this, the catalog fulfills the role of public relations tool as well. So integrate this in your own catalogs.
So those are the different areas of concern for catalogs. Focus on those five and your catalogs should become super catalogs performing a lot of tasks using a single primary design. You can use that design for many kinds of projects from advertising to public relations. It is very useful indeed.
