How can I manually free my computer of viruses?
I got a laptop for school from CSR Industries using ebay. Somehow my computer has contracted a virus and everywhere I look for help people keep telling me I need to purchase one thing or another. Spending money isn’t an option for me! The operating system is Windows XP Pro and the laptop is a Dell Latitude D800. I believe that the virus my computer has is a trojan because it has also infected my flash drive and when I use my public library’s computers their security (McAfee) detects a virus on my drive, of course I always delete it, but I have NO security on my laptop and it is still infected. Is there a way I can manually purge my computer of ALL viruses without spending any money? Please tell me how.
To Remove Virus in you Computer.Restart You computer Safe Mode with Networking:
1.Log out and reboot your machine.
2.When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.
3.Select Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu.
4. Login. If the malware has changed your password, try logging in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.
5.The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different.
